Hi, I’m Brian Dyer, the new President of Sterling ATM.

I started my career here as CFO, then COO, roles where you’re mostly behind the scenes, focused on operations, finances, and plant performance. And honestly, that’s always felt natural to me. Growing up, I played offensive line in football. That’s a position where you work shoulder-to-shoulder with your teammates, doing the gritty, unglamorous work that lets everyone else shine.

You’re not in the spotlight like the quarterback or the receivers, but you have a major impact on the success of the rest of your team.

That’s the mindset I’ve brought to Sterling, and it’s the mindset I’ll bring to serving you as President. To me, working “in the trenches” also means being close to the action. So in this new role, I want to meet you, our customers, understand your world more deeply, and learn what else Sterling can do to help you win.

The truth is: Sterling is capable of more than what we’re doing for many of our customers today. We’ve already proven that. Several years ago, we aimed our capabilities at something completely new for us, off-road camping trailers, and in a short time, helped build Bean Trailer into one of the most respected brands in that industry. If we can go from knowing almost nothing about trailers to being a leader there, we can absolutely take that same ability and apply it to new solutions for our banking customers.

My goal is simple:

To relentlessly pursue improved quality in our products and the experience our customers have working with us, and to eliminate wonder. When you have to ask a question, it means you’re been left to wonder about something. I want us to anticipate what you need, information, support, new solutions, before you have to ask.

So, over the coming months, you’ll see me out in the field, visiting branches, plants, and offices, listening and learning. If you’re a Sterling customer, I’d love to connect. If you’re not yet, I’d love the chance to show you what we can do. Thank you for the trust you’ve placed in Sterling.

I’m excited to work in the trenches for you, and to help build what’s next, together.

Maintaining and branding an ATM is not just a matter of upkeep, it’s a direct investment in customer trust, brand loyalty, and competitive advantage. In today’s fast-paced, convenience-driven financial landscape, a bank’s ATM often serves as the most frequent and visible point of contact with customers. Here’s why keeping ATMs well-maintained and branded is essential:

Customer Trust and Confidence
A clean, functional, and professionally branded ATM communicates reliability. If an ATM is frequently out of service, dirty, or poorly branded, customers may question the bank’s overall competence or security practices. Conversely, a consistently well-maintained ATM reassures users that their money-and their personal data-is in trustworthy hands.

Brand Visibility and Recognition
ATMs placed in strategic locations serve as 24/7 brand ambassadors. A clearly branded ATM reinforces your bank’s identity in the public eye and can even attract new customers. Especially in areas with multiple bank options, how does your ATM appearance stack up to your competitors? A visually strong, well-branded ATM can tip the scales when people are choosing where to open an account or withdraw cash.

Competitive Differentiation
In regions saturated with financial institutions, a well-maintained, branded ATM can set a bank apart. Features like smooth functionality, clear signage, lighting, and modern design convey a forward-thinking and customer-focused bank-unlike an outdated or anonymous ATM that could belong to any institution, or none at all.

Security Perception
Security is paramount in banking. Poor lighting, unresponsive interface, or even a lack of clear bank branding can make users suspicious of tampering or skimming. A well-maintained, clearly marked ATM not only deters criminal activity but also helps customers feel safe during transactions.

Operational Efficiency and Cost Savings
Proactively maintaining ATMs reduces the frequency and cost of emergency repairs. Downtime not only frustrates customers, but also represents a lost opportunity for transaction fees and cross-selling bank services. Regular maintenance ensures smoother operations, less disruption, and better return on investment.

Brand Consistency Across Channels
Customers expect a seamless experience from their bank, whether they’re in a branch, online, or using an ATM. A branded ATM that matches the bank’s visual identity and tone creates a consistent, unified experience that strengthens overall brand equity.

In short, a bank’s ATM is not just a utility-it’s a critical touchpoint that can either reinforce or undermine a brand’s reputation. By investing in regular maintenance and consistent branding, banks demonstrate professionalism, boost customer satisfaction, and build long-term loyalty. It’s not just about keeping machines running-it’s about keeping the brand thriving.
